Oz West is approximately 4000 sqft. and sits on 8 acres featuring a small orchard and beautiful landscaping that overlooks Paradise Valley. Sitting directly across the valley from the Absaroka Mountains, Oz West gives the traveller a very special slice of Montana in which to enjoy the beautiful views she has to offer. The two tiered, 1600 sqft. deck provides excellent opportunity to soak in the breathtaking scenery. Our location is also unique as it lies directly in the Montana Mule deer habitat which gives guests a unique opportunity to see this beautiful animal up close.
Oz West consists of 2 master suites joined together by a Jack and Jill master en-suite as well as 3 additional bedrooms and 2 additional bathrooms. This brings the total to 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Outside of the bedrooms Oz West also provides extra sleeping capacity as we have a queen sized sleeper sofa as well as a twin sized sleeper sofa. There is also a bunk bed in the upper living room. If extra sleeping capacity is needed we have provided a queen sized air mattress that can actually be split into two separate queen sized mattresses. With all the extra sleeping capacity, Oz West can sleep parties of 14 comfortably, but can easily accommodate parties of up to 16 people.
In addition to the sleeping accommodations, Oz West features a formal living room with a large screen T.V. and gas powered stove as well as a family room with a large double-sided gas powered fireplace and a large screen T.V. as well as a reading nook. Off of the family room there is a four-season sun room that allows guests to sit and enjoy the other side of the dual-sided fireplace. From the sun room the guest has access to the hot tub room which features a 6 person hot tub and excellent views of Dome Mountain and Electric Peak to the south.
The house also features a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils and appliances needed to provide a nice dinner at home for your family. The dining room has enough table space for 8 but can accommodate up to 12 people if necessary. The dining room also features a wall-mounted flat screen T.V. for those sports fanatics that can't get away from the game.
If these amenities weren't enough the house features a two-tiered, 1600 sqft. deck that has 2 covered portions as well as an open portion that provides a multi-range of outdoor experiences. In addition to the massive deck, the property features an organic garden stocked with the fruit and vegetables that best grow at this elevation. The property is also home to a small orchard featuring some of the finest organic fruit grown at this elevation so if you time it right you can walk out in the orchard and pick some fresh fruit from our trees. The garden is accessible to all guests that wish to take advantage of having fresh grown fruit and vegetables. We only ask that you save some for those that come after so that they may enjoy this unique feature as well
Oz West sits in a truly unique part of Montana. We are 30 minutes north of Gardiner the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Gardiner is home to several unique gift shops and galleries as well as several restaurants and recreation opportunities for visitors. Choose from white water rafting, fly-fishing, or horseback riding - Gardiner has you covered. If it is a cup of coffee, ice-cream cone, steak dinner or Montana BBQ, Gardiner provides easy access to these amenities in close proximity to our nation's first national park.
Just minutes away is the small town of Emigrant which is home to the Emigrant General Store which has a gas station, small grocery store, a gift shop, as well as a laundromat. In addition to the general store Emigrant has a post office, a bank, a church, and a few eateries for visitors to enjoy. We are also only 10 minutes away from Chico Hot Springs which sits on top of one of Montana's many natural hot springs as well as a few different restaurant choices, from the Chico Dining room which provides an elegant dining room experience to the Poolside Grill for a more casual night out with the family. Chico is also home to The Chico Saloon which has VLTs, a Pool Table, foosball, and live music every Friday and Saturday night. Chico also provides horseback riding, white water rafting, and even dog sledding in the winter.
Just 30 minutes to the north is the small town of Livingston which has two fully stocked grocery stores, gift shops, restaurants as well as museums. If the small town grocery store in Emigrant does not have what you need then Livingston will most definitely have it. In addition, Livingston is also home health food serving locally grown and organic produce as well as many other of your health food needs.
Just 25 minutes west of Livingston (50-55 minutes away from Oz West) is Bozeman which is the largest city in the area. Bozeman is home to the local airport which operates as an international airport providing access to the area for the thousands of people wanting to visit our parks and ski-resorts. If you enjoy museums then Bozeman is the place for you as Montana's most famous museum the Museum of the Rockies, located at Montana State University in Bozeman is a unique place to explore Montana's history both prehistoric as well as more recent. Shoppers can also have their field day by either visiting the Gallatin Valley Mall or visiting the many boutique shops and restaurants that are the core of this unique mountain town. Bozeman also provides the visitor with additional recreational choices as it is home to two public golf courses as well as skiing, with Bridger Bowl Ski Area and Big Sky being so close.
Oz West is unique because it lies within a reasonable drive from all of these awesome opportunities.
